In my marketing and communications career so far, I’ve helped two higher education institutions and a top 20 U.S. non-profit, global-facing economic development organization reach new feats.

    • Greater Richmond Partnership

    • Assist in implementing marketing and public relations campaigns to promote Greater Richmond, Virginia, as the top mid-sized business location among corporate executives and site consultants

    • Promote the organization as a top U.S. regional economic development organization among top trade publications

    • Collaborate with the VP of MarComm to reach and exceed goals set forth by the President and CEO and approved by the Board of Directors with a $200,000 marketing and PR budget

    • Compile and design metric reports for the President and CEO and the Board

    • Build ongoing relationships with business and community leaders, higher education professionals, local government officials, investors, the media and journalists as well as internal stakeholders

    • Maintain an active database of media outlets, contacts and their topics of interest

    • Write and send media pitches and press releases to select local, national and international media outlets and journalists

    • Guide the contracted PR team in securing earned media placements and in-market tours

    • Assist in securing earned media and media tours as well as organizing and executing media tours with top trade publication journalists and agencies

    • Organize and supervise press calls and meetings

    • Gather talking points and conduct media training for spokespeople

    • Work with trade publications to purchase media advertisements and editorials

    • Keep the team abreast of recent news and events

    • Develop and execute communication strategies for paid and organic social media, e-newsletters, news releases and blogs

    • Track and report on key performance indicators for social media, website engagement, media requests and mentions, and potential reach of media relations efforts

    • Create and manage a social media content calendar as well as an editorial calendar to plan for and develop content

    • Write and edit scripts and speeches for the President and CEO and other stakeholders

    • Worked on a three-time award-winning website redesign

    • Command website management system WordPress to manage and consistently update the website with new industry data, rankings and imagery while improving search engine optimization and lead generation

    • Design and update marketing collateral including slide decks, flyers, brochures, event signage and investor materials

    • Write for marketing collateral including quotes, blogs, e-newsletters and advertisements

    • Assist in event planning and logistics by managing and creating save-the-dates, invitations and post-event surveys as well as helping on-site

    • Manage and guide student communications and graphic design interns in creating content for the website and social media as well as for their portfolios

    • Review, edit and approve the work of student interns before publishing or distributing

    • Planned and executed an award-winning social media video series that garnered a total of 24,433 impressions, 2,353 engagements, an engagement rate of 9.6 percent per impression, 91 new followers and 16,558 video views

    • Organized the run of show for the FY24 Annual Meeting, wrote the script for top leadership, designed a slide deck to take GRP’s audience of 150+ through recent successes and manned the AV station during the event

    • Rowan University Campus Recreation

    • Wrote and scheduled 15 to 20 social media posts per week on Facebook, Instagram and X

    • Planned and implemented strategic campaigns across seven departments

    • Designed flyers and more using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom and Photoshop

    • Updated and refined the website to boost search engine optimization

    • Led teams of three communication assistants, two graphic designers, two photographers and videographers and five street team members

    • Collaborated with app developers to introduce the first Rowan Campus Rec app

    • Guided more than 20 student employees in providing positive customer service and completing cash and card transactions while selling memberships and renting equipment

    • Updated and maintained business operation software with ongoing programs and schedules including swim lessons, group fitness classes, special events and more

    • Managed a content calendar, strategized and wrote Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X posts and evaluated key performance indicators using Sprout Social analytics

    • Published blog and website content and created supplemental infographics using Canva

    • Assisted with local and national economic development media relations to attract new businesses to the region

    • Virginia Commonwealth University Recreational Sports

    • Wrote, scheduled and analyzed 60 Facebook, X and Instagram posts per month

    • Created content for monthly university-wide and community member e-newsletters

    • Updated the website with current information and imagery compliant with ADA regulations

    • Co-presented “Every Body Can: Celebrating Inclusion, Diversity & Unique Experiences Through Storytelling” at the national 2019 annual NIRSA conference
