In my marketing and communications career so far, I’ve helped two higher education institutions and a top 20 U.S. non-profit, global-facing economic development organization reach new feats.

    • Greater Richmond Partnership

    • Strategy

      • Support new and ongoing marketing and communications campaigns promoting Greater Richmond, Virginia, as the top mid-sized business location to corporate decision makers while positioning the organization as a top U.S. economic development group

      • Devise strategy to use GRP’s media relations, press releases, paid and organic social media, blog and e-newsletters to increase the number of Marketing Qualified Leads and track key performance indicators to inform necessary pivots and future strategies

      • Create quarterly reports for the President and CEO and the Board of Directors

      Corporate communications

      • Write quotes from the President and CEO plus internal and external stakeholders for press releases and media requests

      • Write e-newsletter introductions for the President and CEO to an audience of nearly 2,500

      • Assist with fundraising campaigns by maintaining investor documents, coordinating investor communications and more

      • Organized the FY24 Annual Meeting run of show, wrote the script for top leadership, designed the slide deck to take GRP’s audience of 150+ through recent successes and manned the AV station during the event

      Media relations

      • Write and send media pitches and press releases to select local, national and international media outlets and journalists for earned media and inbound media tours

      • Foster relationships with media outlets and journalists while maintaining a database of contacts and their topics of interest as well as an editorial calendar of upcoming topics

      • Organize press calls and interviews, prepare spokespeople with talking points and media training and supervise media interactions to ensure key messages are on brand

      • Monitor recent news and events for opportunities and challenges

      Digital marketing

      • Maintain a monthly and daily social media content calendar to develop 15 to 20 organic social posts per week across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X

      • Write copy and design graphics for paid social media advertising on LinkedIn to secure meetings for Business Development with potential clients during marketing missions

      • Manage a three-time award-winning website with new blogs, press releases, data and rankings while helping to boost search engine optimization to a 95 percent health score

      • Craft two monthly e-newsletters with company and regional news for internal and external stakeholders plus subscribers on GRP’s website

      • Design client- and investor-facing materials like slide decks, publications and signage

      • Create and distribute a series of save-the-date emails, e-invitations and post-event surveys

      • Planned and executed an award-winning social media video series garnering a total of 24,433 impressions, 2,353 engagements, an engagement rate of 9.6 percent per impression, 91 new followers and 16,558 video views

      Management

      • Guide two to three interns in creating website content like blogs and press releases plus content for social media while reviewing, editing and approving their work prior to publishing and distributing

    • Rowan University Campus Recreation

    • Wrote and scheduled 15 to 20 social media posts per week on Facebook, Instagram and X

    • Planned and implemented strategic campaigns across seven departments

    • Designed flyers and more using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom and Photoshop

    • Updated and refined the website to boost search engine optimization

    • Led teams of three communication assistants, two graphic designers, two photographers and videographers and five street team members

    • Collaborated with app developers to introduce the first Rowan Campus Rec app

    • Guided more than 20 student employees in providing positive customer service and completing cash and card transactions while selling memberships and renting equipment

    • Updated and maintained business operation software with ongoing programs and schedules including swim lessons, group fitness classes, special events and more

    • Managed a content calendar, strategized and wrote Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X posts and evaluated key performance indicators using Sprout Social analytics

    • Published blog and website content and created supplemental infographics using Canva

    • Assisted with local and national economic development media relations to attract new businesses to the region

    • Virginia Commonwealth University Recreational Sports

    • Wrote, scheduled and analyzed 60 Facebook, X and Instagram posts per month

    • Created content for monthly university-wide and community member e-newsletters

    • Updated the website with current information and imagery compliant with ADA regulations
